FKMP · Fusion 360

FKMP runs directly on your Fusion 360 assembly geometry — no ROS bridge, no external solver, no export/import round-trips. Prototype robotic mechanisms for any environment and test them in place.

01 Download

Grab the ZIP

Download FKMP-1.0.1.zip using the button above. Windows only — Fusion 360 must have been launched at least once.

02 Install dependencies

Run install_deps.bat

Unzip it, copy the FKMP folder into your Fusion 360 AddIns folder, then double-click install_deps.bat inside it.

03 Register & restart

Add it in Fusion, then restart

Add FKMP in Fusion's Add-Ins tab, click Run, then fully quit and relaunch Fusion 360.

1Windows only. Make sure Fusion 360 has been launched at least once before installing.
2Unzip FKMP-1.0.1.zip and copy the FKMP folder (the one containing FKMP.py and FKMP.manifest) into %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\API\AddIns\FKMP\.
3Inside that FKMP folder, double-click install_deps.bat to install numpy, trimesh, and scipy into Fusion's Python.
4In Fusion 360, open Utilities → Add-Ins → Scripts and Add-Ins (Shift+S) → Add-Ins tab, click the green +, and select the FKMP folder → Run. Tick Run on Startup to auto-load each session.
5Fully quit and relaunch Fusion 360 — required. Fusion caches failed imports per-process, so Stop/Run alone won't clear a ModuleNotFoundError from before the dependencies were installed.
6Verify: look for an FKMP tab in the toolbar with Kinematics and Motion Planning panels.
